A final report supplement urges building a connected local road system linking Potter county with Carson and Hutchinson counties to the main highway. Estimated Potter County costs reach about $12,000 for a tributary road from nine and a half miles south of Four Corners to the Carson Potter line, with potential routes matching the proposed main highway path. The plan requires cooperation among counties and supports extending into Deal and Borger areas.
Hugh L. United States Secret Service Agent David Dickinson linked a flood of counterfeit half dollars in western Nebraska to William C. Werber alias Ryan, 60, of Verdigre. A complete set of counterfeiting tools was found in his room, and fifty counterfeit coins were recovered from various Nebraska communities. A barber from Imperial, Nebraska, was arrested two weeks earlier.

After the fight Jack Dempsey and Jack Sharkey offered rival accounts. Dempsey said Sharkey was tough but never hurt him badly and he kept his head clear throughout. Sharkey claimed Dempsey was drunk and groggy and that he had him licked, predicting a return bid while mentioning Tunney.
Eyewitness accounts divided on a fight at ringside last night as Dempsey appeared to strike Sharkey low twice in the seventh round. The observer noted the action and questioned the legality of the blows.

A delegation from Torreon Mexico visited Amarillo to inspect the city water plant and air lift pumps. They toured Word and LX ranches, dined at the Amarillo hotel, and met with Mayor Lee Bivins and other officials. The visiting group included Hilario Esparza Jr and Enrique Marroquin.
Governor Alvan Fuller visited hunger striking inmates at Charleston state prison in Boston as part of a personal probe into the Sacco Vanzetti murder case. He spoke with Celestino Madeiros of New Bedford, awaiting execution for another crime, whose confession linked to the South Braintree killings.

Arthur Downs of St. Joseph scored a birdie on the seventeenth at the Fairview course when his sixty yard approach shot killed a rabbit perched on the green. The ball rolled into the cup, sealing the unusual feat.
Rapid City July 22. President Coolidge and key advisers clash on calling an extra congressional session around October 15 to act on flood relief. Senate Finance Chair Smoot urges it for timely bills, while Hoover supports and Rep. Tillson opposes. Smoot proposes a 300 million tax cut plan linked to the session.
Julian Bivins was injured when his plane crashed nose first into the ground about five miles north of the city. He sustained serious cuts but was conscious and treated at Northwest Texas hospital. Bivins, son of Mayor Lee Bivins, frequently flies to his ranch near Tascosa.
The Florence Alabama chamber of commerce petitioned the Interstate Commerce Commission to rehear oil rate cases from Oklahoma Arkansas Louisiana and Texas to Florence Sheffield Tugueumba and Russellville Alabama. Oklahoma City July 22 written protest against any order to restrict drilling or curtail Seminole field production was filed by Gypsy Oil company. The protest followed a temporary restraining order issued after Ray M. Collins, Seminole field umpire, sought to curtail production. Under the order returnable August 5 no wells in the Seminole field may be shot or drilled into the sand in certain sections pending a permanent decision.
Philadelphia report states Thomas Celloucer aged 27 died from a blow delivered by friend John Derogativ during a demonstration of the Dempsey punch at Yan Kee Stadium. The incident followed a boxing exhibit attended by spectators.
