With over 400 workers on site, actual construction of the Santa Fe line from Amarillo to Boise City nears, and more men and equipment will be added. A new bridge over the Canadian River is planned to start within 10 days, with Union Bridge & Construction Co. of Kansas City handling the span work. About 100 men will initially work on the bridge, as steam shovels pile drivers and other equipment are rushed to the sites to push ahead the he man project this week.

Rites Arranged for Air Crash Victims Near Adrian
Victims of a late yesterday plane crash near Adrian lay in Griggs chapel Amarillo today as funeral plans began. The Monocoupe piloted by Clarence Thuett, 23, and his passenger 14 year old Marietta Hall of Adrian were killed when the craft crashed shortly after takeoff from a field in view of Adrian's business district. Thuett, married with two children, had aviation experience but possibly no license. Hall was the daughter of Mr and Mrs John Ed Hall. Survivors include Thuett's parents Mr and Mrs J W Thuett of near Vega and his wife and two children. Services were expected to be held Tuesday.
