George Otts Bonaparte Eugene Robert Gober died at 69 this morning at St. Anthony's Hospital after 39 years in Dumas and Moore County. Survived by two brothers J. Gober of Sanger Gus Gober of Dumas a nephew H P Gober of Sanger and niece Mrs John Walker of Dumas. Funeral set for 1 PM Thursday at Boxwell Brothers chapel with Rev. I F Walker officiating. Body to be taken to Sanger for burial.
In Carlsbad New Mexico bats in the national park are expanding their diet as they fatten on grasshoppers. Colonel Thomas Boles, park superintendent, predicts the cave dwellers will rid the area of the hopper invasion after time. Dissections show bat stomachs full of grasshopper remains.

Temperatures in most areas still range 90 to 100 degrees with deaths from the heat totaling 38. Boy Scouts from Lubbock Slaton Post and other South Plains towns visit Amarillo on a tour after the Washington Jamboree. D A Clark the local Scout executive says Amarillo Scouts will greet them. They will stay until 7 pm be served refreshments and entertained at a picture show.
