Texarkana murder hangs accused while wife kept safe
In Texarkana a Black man, Willie Vinson, accused of approaching a trailer where a war plant worker’s wife and infant slept, was captured after a struggle. He was hanged from a gin winch by a mob that grew to a dozen or more, despite hospital treatment and conflicting reports on his condition. The incident left the young mother with minor injuries and the crowd dispersing after the act.
