Ama rillo dairy markets cut prices Monday with retail milk at 10 cents a quart and wholesale at 8 cents per pint. Producers' rates drop 16 cents per 100 pounds as raw milk dealers expand. Butterfat testing at 4 percent brings $2.40 per hundred. sweet milk 35 cents per gallon.

Reginald Robbins and Harold Jones head from Fairbanks toward Seattle to retry a Seattle to Tokyo nonstop attempt. After a fog disrupted last week's leg they refueled 175 gallons before resuming the journey toward Seattle with a potential 3 pm arrival, depending on a Yukon stop.

Mexico Bound Captain Carranza Flight Sighting Crash on Beach

The pilot of Captain Carranza’s plane bound for Brownsville reported a wrecked plane sighting on a beach between Tampico and Brownsville. Two fliers near the crash were seen unhurt. The left wing tip was smashed and the sighting occurred about 60 miles north of Soto La Marina Tamaulipas.

Charges Due in Death Case In Shamrock Shooting

In Shamrock Texas the fatal shooting of Dr. W W Guyton an 82 year old retired physician occurred at a filling station. A relative who witnesses say fired three shots is held in jail at Wheeler and county attorney Clyde Fillmore said charges would probably be filed today. The shooting stemmed from a long standing quarrel. Operator J C Czek said he foresaw trouble from the meeting and fled inside before the shots. Dr Guyton was a pioneer physician who retired a decade ago.

Plains Cities Protest Rate Increase Over Grain Freight

A group from Plain cities urged Amarillo to join in opposing a new freight rate schedule on grain from Miami Glazier and Higgins to Gulf ports. The session at 1 30 this afternoon included the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce traffic committee with S J Cole explaining the rate change. Leader L A McAdams headed the visiting Canadian Chamber delegation.

French Fliers Over Siberia in Daring 6200 Mile Run

Two French aviators Joseph Le Brix and Marcel Doret fly the Hyphen from Paris toward Tokyo aiming to set a non stop distance record. Sighted over Moscow at 7 30 P M eastward toward Nijinovgorod they target Tokyo in about 60 hours over a 6200 mile route. They had previously set a 6500 mile circuit record in over 70 hours.

Funeral rites for William Woods Ellison age 45 were held at Central Presbyterian Church with Dr. R Thomson officiating. Ellison died after a long illness at his home 1619 Washington Street leaving a widow and a son William Woods Jr along with several brothers and sisters. He was president and general manager of the Armstrong Transfer and Storage Company.

New Policy to Lower Rate on Casing Head Gas

The Texas Railroad Commission adopted a policy classifying casing head or natural gasoline as a raw material and granting lower transportation rates than refinery gasoline. The schedule varies from 8 cents per 100 pounds for under 10 miles to 27.5 cents for over 600 miles, with numerous local exceptions and no differentials applied.

Fall case postponed in DC Supreme Court

After a long conference with attorneys Justice Bailey in the District of Columbia Supreme Court postponed action in Albert B. Fall’s case until tomorrow. Earlier he had refused to suspend the one year jail term for accepting a $100,000 bribe for an oil lease while secretary of the interior, but allowed a consultation to decide adding a day to his sentence to let the attorney general assign him to a western prison.

Two Men In North Stamford Fight Ends In Death

In Anson Texas July 13 Ralph Shirley 20 died from injuries after an altercation in a North Stamford home. Cecil Hunter 20 was charged with murder. Shirley died in a Stamford hospital from a blow with a stick.

Private Olaf Nelson of Fort Bliss was flown in a large army ambulance plane to Washington after two teeth swallowed at breakfast lodged in his throat. Lt. E Irwin piloted the craft with Maj. Daniel Franklin aboard as surgeons in Washington prepared for the delicate removal procedure.
