County Funds Meet Need With Loan Plan
The commissioners' court arranged to borrow about 50,000 for the remainder of the year from First National Bank to cover general fund needs. About 7,600 a month will be needed until tax collections resume, with refunding warrants to follow. Unexpected expenses, including courthouse remodeling, drained the fund and county valuations last year were too low. Bids for bridge and culvert work on the oil field highway will be opened next Saturday.
