Galveston July 11 The Texas Southwest Claim Agents association urged eliminating grade crossings and halting new ones in Texas Oklahoma Arkansas and Louisiana. They cited 1928 fatalities 2268 injuries 6314 and called for highway relocation and rail track recessing with state rail commission power to stop drivers at crossings.

Pure Food show and Industrial exposition hosts a full musical evening with local artists performing pieces from Hawaiian Spanish German and national music. Jeff Potlock's Fiddlin' band wowed the crowd and Miss Zalee Williams and Miss Chloris Mly gave popular Spanish dances. A baby show yesterday crowned Julia Ann Odor and Paul Lloyd Hoover as top winners. The event runs through tomorrow night with carnival features and a mattress auction for the Children's Home.
