Boy 9 Defends Mother In Court With Book Learning
In Los Angeles on July 9 a municipal court jury convicted Mrs. Berry of failing to educate her child. The 9 year old Jack Berry testified himself, spelling and answering on history theology astronomy and geography, showing remarkable knowledge. He can speak five languages and know many dictionary words. The penalty for the mother is six months in jail and a 500 dollar fine. She appealed.
