Post Office Safe Blown Open at White Deer

Yeggs entered the White Deer post office last night carried the heavy iron safe to a pasture and blew the door. Entry was through a window. The amount taken remains undetermined as investigators led by Joe Wyndelts and Post Office Inspector Johnson examine prints. Knob knockers at Canyon also escaped with about 45 dollars and papers. S P President On Way To Rites Of Former Chief

W R Scott president of the Southern Pacific traveling from Houston to attend the funeral of W R Scott former president of the Southern Pacific lines in Texas and Louisiana. The service is set for 5:50 p.m. Friday with many railroad officials expected to attend. Scott, who retired March 1 1920 after forty seven years in the railroad business, was born August 1 862 in Hamilton Ontario and died Wednesday at his Bayshore home near Seabrook.
