New Orleans Cotton Prices Move Amid Early Strength and Liquidity
The New Orleans market opened with gains as first trades showed October at 10.68 and December at 10.87, then eased on liquidation ahead of the government acreage estimate and higher margins. After a mid-morning rally, prices steadied, with October around 10.43 and December near 10.62, as rains in Western Texas helped curb the drop. In Kansas City, livestock traded higher on hogs and steady to firmer cattle and veal prices, with top hogs at 4.50 and calves near 5.50, while sheep and lambs held near previous levels and stockers moved modestly higher.
