Sullenberger Pioneer Leader Dies in Amarillo at 81
S F Sullenberger, a longtime Amarillo resident and Panhandle oil and gas pioneer, died early today in a Marlin hospital after a 10 day illness. He was 81 and had lived in Amarillo 40 years, with roles at Western Sand and Gravel Company, National Bank of Commerce Amarillo, and Lester Bank Canyon. He leaves a son Sam Sullenberger and a daughter Mrs W D Burger, plus three grandchildren. Funeral plans pending arrival of relatives. Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors to receive body.
