United Press reports the July Fourth holiday deaths near 409 as traffic jams and crowded venues exacted a high toll. State tallies show 372 dead since Friday, with 192 from traffic crashes, 100 drownings, two airplane incidents, two fireworks deaths, and 76 from other causes.
