Two Dimmitt youths escaped a submerged truck after an overflowing lake washed across Highway 2. Attack Case Suspect Transferred to Austin for Questioning
Sheriff Paul Gaither took a Wichita Falls suspect to Austin for lie detector tests in the Pleasant Valley rape case. The Amarillo man, under Wichita Falls indictment for assault with intent to murder and burglary, was arrested Saturday afternoon and freed June 13 on bonds totaling 6500. The 9 year old Pleasant Valley victim had been attacked four times in May. investigators gave few details as Gaither left for Austin.
