Dr. R Utley believes Frank Crown a 22 year old Texas A and I sophomore is immune to serious danger from black widow spider bites after a third bite in the Rio Grande Valley. Crown was treated for a bite and showed illness but recovered. Utley has treated over 50 such cases.
Crown survives three black widow bites with increasing resistance. The spider, identified by the hourglass mark, is studied by experts. A laboratory expert notes that repeated spider bites yield little effect, while guinea pigs show minimal reaction after multiple exposures.
