Hiawatha Runaway Train In Kittitas Halts Before Collision
The Milwaukee Road stream liner Hiawatha carrying nearly 200 passengers rolled backward for six miles from Kittitas to Renslow after air brakes failed. Engineer Edward Maxwell and fireman A. R.
