Kansas City Kansas dispatch reports a taxi driver nearly hit a six year old boy who ran into the street. The driver scolded him with the remark Your mother should tan you good for playing out in the street. An elderly woman passenger claimed to be the boy’s grandmother and stated she would spank him again. The grandmother followed through, administering a spanking to the boy.
Potter County rural schools will be given achievement tests next week as part of standardization. County superintendent Carl G. Clifft said the rural schools standardized last year and are eager to maintain their standardization.
Washington January 26 Congress received proposed amendments to delay full Philippine independence about 15 years after political independence. Senator Tydings and Representative Kociałkowski introduced the bills for the Insular Affairs Committee. The plan also calls for a stepped up tariff schedule of five percent annually on goods traded between the Philippines and the United States.
