Amarillo superintendent Charles Rogers elected district chair succeeding R B Fisher who resigned to become Corpus Christi superintendent.
Amarillo Area Council to hold regular monthly court of honor tomorrow at 7 30 in district courtroom. John R Mc Knight and C A Clark announce many Scouts advancing. Eight receive second class, 11 first class, eight Star Scout, 64 merit badges awarded.
Swarthmore residents voted 563 to 37 against allowing any theaters within borough limits after a mass meeting. The council had discussed possibly amending zoning laws to permit a theater.
The Treasury reported receipts of 38.51 million dollars and expenditures of 42.24 million on Jan 24, leaving a balance of 2.95 million. Fiscal year receipts total 3.434 billion with 4.300 billion in expenditures, including 1.145 billion in emergency outlays, debt stands at 37.425 billion, gold assets 12.755 billion with 1.223 billion inactive.
