The petition seeks approval to extend services by McMakin Motor Coaches, Inc. and South Plains Coaches, Inc. Examiner Robert Hendon assists a joint board led by Texas Railroad Commissioner C. V. Terrell, with A. S. Shaw and Roy Walker from Oklahoma and New Mexico respectively.
Louie Turner pleaded not guilty in county court this morning to theft from an automobile. The case will be tried before a jury within a week or two. Turner is accused of breaking into a car owned by H. M. Miller of Kansas City and taking an overcoat, gloves and other articles. Bond was set at $500.
Burglars broke into the Bon Ton Bakery at 316 Taylor Street late Saturday night or early Sunday morning. They unlocked the safe and stole $20 in cash and $13 in checks through a rear door. Police were alerted and found the rear door ajar again last night with no additional losses.
Rome reports Benito Mussolini's 20 year old son Bruno with two companions departed Guidonia airport in three loaded Savoia 79 bombers at 7 25 A M for South America. The planes, identical to those used against Barcelona, were built in Italy for the Nationalists.

The court voted to advertise for bids on a standard-size power-lift road maintenance machine for precinct No. 4. Commissioners discussed proposed WPA projects to create paying jobs but took no action.
Japanese aircraft bombed the Canton Hankow Railway stations and the Canton Kowloon line linking Canton with Hong Kong for about nine hours. The attacks targeted the main stations as part of a prolonged assault on the railway relays in the Canton area.
United States authorities plan to cut forces in the Shanghai area by half within a month. The auxiliary transport Chaumont will depart mid February with the U.S. Marines Sixth Regiment, leaving about 1,200 marines in the Fourth Regiment.
