Three Amarillo Men Charged in Navy Club Burglary
Three Amarillo men Chesley Erickson Herbert Walters and Marion Torrance were charged with burglary after a Navy Club break in. Four slot machines valued at 1000 and cash were stolen with several fifths of whiskey, later recovered along a dirt road north of the Navy Club. Detective Chief J L King said coins were not recovered and the club lock showed pry marks. Ben W Jones manager reported the machines likely held 50 to 100 in cash. The break in occurred after the club closed about 1 am Sunday. Detectives nabbed one man leading to the others.
