Pension or annuity under Railroad Retirement Act questions
If eligible for an annuity and a Section 6 pension, you will receive the annuity for life and a Section 6 pension only until the annuity is awarded, but you will not receive both. If not eligible for an annuity based on pre January 1, 1937 service, you get only the pension for life. A pension granted after March 1, 1937 does not qualify if you were not on the employer’s pension roll on March 1, 1937.
