London January 11 The Salvation Army high council accepted a counter proposal urging General Bramwell Booth to retire as commander-in-chief after turbulent discussions reported by the Way's Daily Mail. Sixty eight commissioners met. fifty six signaled for retirement while seven were tasked to present the matter to the general.

Longest air mail division runs Omaha to Cheyenne
The longest of the seven divisions of the transcontinental air mail is Omaha to Cheyenne, 477 miles, while the shortest route is Reno to San Francisco, 185 miles. Westbound mail from Salt Lake City goes in three directions to the Pacific Northwest, Idaho and Montana, and to Los Angeles, a 600 mile ramp from Salt Lake.
