The Texas Senate passed a bill repealing the oil lease law and directing the land commissioner to ignore bids on university land and to make no record of them. The measure, approved 27 to 0, now goes to the House as it probes land leases amid debates over University of Texas oil rights.
Navy airship Los Angeles completed a voyage from Lakehurst New Jersey and moored to the tender Patoka in St Johns Bay Florida after delays from adverse winds and fog. Officials reported no danger and noted ongoing weather communication issues.
