Cleveland Ohio January 11 two unidentified men believed to be bandits were shot during a confrontation with Patrolman Daniel Candow in a restaurant as he questioned them. A gun was drawn and Candow fired killing one man in the chest and fatally wounding the other who died later in hospital. The first man recovered a revolver but Candow shot him twice more, killing him instantly.
Boston January 11 Chairman Norris of the senate agriculture committee said he would no longer oppose senate action on the Muscle Shoals issue. He argued that if the Southern public does not want the cheapest power in the world developed it is useless to push it.
The House today approved the annual interior department appropriation bill carrying 226,506,000 dollars for the next fiscal year. The measure moves to the Senate for action.
