Teachers to elect officers in Amarillo High School
Amarillo Potter County unit of the Texas State Teachers Association will elect officers at 7:30 PM in Amarillo High School Auditorium with Sam Culpepper of Austin as speaker on professional standards and certification. Ray Small predicts strong turnout. Bel Conte Chorale will perform. Special guests include Amarillo College Future Teachers Club and Amarillo High School Future Teachers Club. Refreshments follow.

Dallas reports Walter Jones of Texarkana stopped to aid two drivers at a roadside breakdown. A third truck rammed Jones’s vehicle, a flare was set, gasoline leaked and caught fire, destroying a tractor and trailer of one truck and another trailer. The broken axle vehicle remained unscathed.
