Tanks for Formosa ships to Formosa from Ohio storage

Lima Ohio dispatch reports 90 carloads of tanks and armored cars destined for Formosa. Shipping originates from a government storage site in Ohio with loading managed by Lt Col Fontaine at Lima Ordnance Depot. Tanks for Formosa move by Turkish ship to China

Ninety carloads of tanks and armored cars bound for the Chinese government at Formosa were loaded onto the Turkish freighter SS Mardin at a Philadelphia pier. Reading Company officials said the consignment traveled by rail from Ohio to the Delaware River port in Port Richmond, Philadelphia, and the ship is expected to depart next week under a no-news-release policy.

Whites Slay in Negro Home Massacre in Mississippi

In Kosciuszko Mississippi early today three white men allegedly massacred three children and injured a 14 year old stepdaughter after attempting to assault her. Thomas Harris said the attackers were Malcolm Whitt Leon Turner and Wendell Whitt. Police pursued the suspects as a manhunt continued.

Two youths held in Tucumcari burglaries

Two juveniles from Meridian Connecticut, Edward G. Hoth age 17 and Robert Henry Perkins Jr age 16, admitted involvement in several burglaries. They were arrested in Tucumcari New Mexico after the Hays Motor Company burglary. Police say a 1946 Chrysler tied to the case was found at the scene and one boy confessed to thefts in Hartford Waterbury and Danbury among others.

Doctor Says FBI Inquiry Is Politics

Dr E A Rowley told the Potter County Medical Society that DOJ agents have opened probes of more than 20 medical groups nationwide and plan to investigate Texas. He condemned the drive as politically motivated and part of a socialized medicine program opposition. The Texas association files may be opened, with agents already active in the federal anti trust division. The meeting at St Anthony's Hospital featured Dr Will Horn and a Potter County Blood Bank report by Dr T P Churchill.

Judge Hamlin Dies After Illness in Clovis New Mexico

Judge James D. Hamlin longtime Southwest figure died at Memorial Hospital in Clovis NM at 78 after four months in hospital and over a year of declining health. Funeral at 2:30 pm at Hamlin Memorial Methodist Church Texico with Dr Ross Calvin officiating. Burial in Farwell family plot directed by Steed Funeral Home. No flowers requested with donations to Methodist Home in Waco preferred. His life celebrated a career in public speaking and love of beauty. He was born August 5 1871 in St Mathews Kentucky.
