Millican Telegraphist Dies of Heart Attack at 57
George H. Millican, 57, longtime Western Union telegraph operator and assistant teletype chief in Amarillo, died at 6 a.m. at his home on 2100 Jackson. Born February 18, 1891 near Farmersville, he built a long career with Western Union after starting as a messenger in Monroe, Louisiana, later advancing to supervisor and chief of telegraphic equipment. Funeral arrangements are pending at Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Home.

N W Boone aged 52 perished when his six room Vega residence burned early this morning. Fire discovered about 2 am by neighbor Mrs Mac Price. Boone body found about 4 am. cause undetermined.
