Two women from Pampa Texas were injured in an Oklahoma City auto collision. Injuries included a serious case. Victims were Mrs M K Staggers 74 and her daughter Mrs H V Overall.
Secretary-General Trygve Lie oversees confidential UN information centers worldwide with a 12th office in Moscow due this month. Offices in Warsaw Prague London Paris Washington Shanghai Rio de Janeiro Mexico City Copenhagen New Delhi and Geneva will disseminate documents and collect data while sending confidential reports to Lie and his top aides. Michael Vavilov, former Soviet embassy official, directs the Moscow center and will depart for Russia to establish operations near the Kremlin.

The American Cancer Society opens a new Amarillo branch with Mrs. Emily Gleason Perkins Houston arriving Friday to establish the office before leaving. Dr. Kenneth Flamm’s Potter County Medical Society aids medical matters while the commission reserves space in the old library on the courthouse square. The initial grant is 5000 dollars funded by ACS. Mrs. Frank Hopkins will lead the office with Mel Hopkins offering cancer fear guidance to the public.
Continued fair weather with a bit warmer conditions this afternoon and not as warm Thursday. West Texas remains fair tonight and Thursday with warmer daytime highs and cooler Panhandle and South Plains. Temperatures show a high near 55 and a low around 29 in the last 24 hours.
