Atlanta youths confess Christmas weekend vandalism spree
Five Atlanta youths aged 16 to 19 admitted taking part in a weekend spree that damaged property and wrecked automobiles on the Northside. Danny Payne, 19, assistant Scoutmaster and son of a railroad dispatcher, led the group and faced multiple vandalism charges with bonds set. Father Dr. John E. Evans, pastor, and other parents reacted with concern as the investigation proceeded. Payne is a University of Georgia sophomore studying business administration.
