UNION Mo Jan 5 A 38 year old 210 pound Missouri state highway patrol trooper on patrol captured three Detroit prisoners who had escaped from Phelps County Jail Rolla hours earlier. They pulled into a filling station west of St Louis to charge a car battery. Prisoners Thomas A Clark 32 John Edward Miller and Stuhlman were unarmed and surrendered. They had stolen a Stude Baker from the Asher Jones garage in Rolla and 3500 in checks and 300 in cash, later found with 105 10 in cash and 21 33 in checks after discarding several checks near Rolla.

Convicts Lose When They Shoot It Out With Arkansas Officers
A five day pursuit through rain sleet and cold ended in North Little Rock as four convicts were captured.
