Jungle Fighters Press To Buna Pocket In New Guinea

Allied and Australian jungle fighters closed in on Japanese defenses at the Sanananda area north of Buna after wiping out the Buna pocket. Allied air forces hit Lae Madang Gasmata and supplied details of heavy Japanese casualties at Buna and Giropa, with at least 800 killed or captured reported.
