Johannes Marinus Dronkers a Dutch subject, brought to England after being rescued from the Channel, was executed today as a German secret agent. A member of the Dutch Nazi party, he admitted the Germans sent him to locate American and Canadian troop concentrations in Britain and assess their strength.

A reader reports plastic rim bifocal glasses found at Fifth Avenue and Taylor Street and can be claimed at the Globe News upstairs office. Peggy Monning of 11 Pierce Street offers a liberal reward for the return of her wire-haired terrier Rastis who disappeared from home yesterday. The dog is white with a few black spots and can be reached at phone 2-1547.
The Barnes children receive continued support as donations pour in following the deaths of their mother and father due to gas poisoning. The list names numerous donors and amounts from individuals and organizations, including General Mills and local families, contributing to the funds.
Hollywood columnist Jimmie Fidler surveys 1942 star losses to military service and retirements while movies posted record box offices. He notes drafts exclude stars, cites marriages and gossip, and references future predictions as the industry braces for 1943.
