Chicago January 4 The Institute of American Packers said abundant feed supplies will boost meat production in 1938 leading to more and larger meat portions on tables. Government data show hog production rising, cattle supply improving, and wholesale meat prices dropping since last fall. Per capita meat and lard intake averaged 129.3 pounds in 1937, down six percent from 1936 and two percent above 1935.

United States government prepares for the first commercial helium export to Germany after the Hindenburg disaster.
