Afternoon session at 1 30 with night session at 6 30. Business men are urged to attend.
Ledbetter becomes owner of the Lindsay drug store Saturday night and assumes charge Sunday morning. The Lindsay store will be renamed Ledbetter Drug Store No 2 with no radical changes planned for now. Ledbetter’s service policy at Store No 2 mirrors the acclaimed service at his No 1 store. Horace Lindsay states he is exiting the drug business and plans to pursue another line.
Amarillo high school distance runners start training tomorrow under coach H G Wilson at the city park facilities in the high school dressing rooms.
In Austin Justice Court Justice of the Peace F R Tannehill hears a $75 promissory note suit filed by Emma Ford against Satterwhite of Amarillo Speaker of the House. Jean Shelton attorney cites board bill origin from Panhandle Texas dated June 1 1922. Satterwhite calls suit spiteful but confirms debt and intent to pay.
Denison, Jan 4. Ethel Snow aged 17 and Elmer Shults aged 23 both of Coffee Bend Oklahoma died when a small car toppled from a twelve foot embankment near the Colbert bridge over Red River four miles north of Denison. They were pinned under the wreckage and found at 7 30 this morning. The woman had been dead about three hours.
Roy Cullum and other Dodge dealers in the region depart this evening for Detroit for the annual Dodge dealers meeting. Thirteen special trains from East and West arrive at Michigan Central station Wednesday morning. About 2,600 representatives from Dodge Brothers and Graham Brothers, with families, will attend a three day convention in Detroit ending Friday evening before trains depart for the New York motor show.
President Coolidge asked Congress to appropriate 60 000 dollars to support the United States participation in the League of Nations preliminary disarmament discussions. He stressed no commitment to attend future conferences and said decisions depend on future conditions. The aim is to aid the preparatory commission within existing policies.
Hanson Post No. 54 of the American Legion will hold its first meeting of the year Tuesday at 7 30 p m. Commander Walter Irvin and Vice Commander Lewis Fields will be installed along with other new officers. Plans for the year will be discussed and several committees named with a call for 100 percent attendance of legionnaires and all ex service men invited.
The Travis County grand jury reconvened January 4 to resume investigations into state government offices from governor to constable. It continues the prior inquiry that included voluminous testimony about the highway department and other state agencies.
