Science vs Religion debate sparks clergy backlash at annual meeting
In New York on January 2, the American Association for the Advancement of Science heard Dr. Henry Fairfield Osborn defend scientific inquiry as weighing and measuring the universe. Prof. Harry F. Barnes argued science relegates sin to superstition and calls for a new order prioritizing happiness, drawing swift clerical responses. The conference concluded with attendees listed at various addresses and organizations.
