Co. E. Hodges a patrolman with 14 months service resigned after a reprimand for slapping prisoner Calvin Patterson 26 of 1108 East Fourth during a transfer between police cars. Police Chief Sid Harper said Hodges, 28, previously on the North Fillmore beat, struck Patterson after an argument during the arrest for drunken driving and truck owner’s consent. The chief noted Hodges is a good officer and will remain on the force.

Wounded Turkish Soldiers Return Home from Japan
