City approves drainage and paving projects after petitions
Prayers of five petitions were granted by the city commission on Wednesday night. When funds are available the intersection of Seventh Avenue and Taylor Street will get better drainage. 35 property owners asked for a sewer at the post office corner citing flooding and slow drainage. Several paving projects were approved including caliche pavement on Twelfth Avenue and reinforced concrete on East First Avenue. West Ninth Avenue paving was accepted as completed, and bids were approved for Nineteenth Avenue and Twenty-second Avenue with West Texas Construction Co. winning both contracts at 7 224.64 dollars.
