City Commission considers paving petitions for East First and Twelfth Avenues
At least two paving petitions will be reviewed by the city commission next session. East First Avenue from Fillmore to Buchanan seeks reinforced concrete pavement with curb and gutter, led by petitioners C. T. Herring, J. Haynes, Mrs. L. K. Johnson and Mary Lyons. Earlier, 27 property owners on Twelfth Avenue between Western and Hillcrest in Roberts Place addition request caliche pavement with inverted penetration asphalt topping and curb and gutter. If receipts reach a 60 percent threshold, both projects may be approved, with Twelfth Avenue mirroring the Amarillo-type pavement recently laid on West Ninth Avenue after the commission shifted specs.
