Lawrence Hagy arrived home by plane Sunday night from Washington where he attended a large Texas appreciation dinner for Postmaster General James A. Farley. Col. Ernest O. Thompson Governor James V. Allred R. E. L. Bobbitt and Ed Clarke also spent several days in the capital last week.
Grover B Hill of the Department of Agriculture arrives from Washington to attend a Soil Conservation meeting. Hill recently took a post in the department’s range control section for the Southern Region and is headquartered in Washington.
A school event covers all children below sixth grade with a separate night show for older children. Mason King oversees arrangements for the children's treat and there will be no charge for attendance or activities.
Joe Kemble on Hayden Street reports burglars last night stole two firearms and a watch from his home. J W Brodock claims his car near the Capitol Hotel was looted of two suits 15 dresses four pairs of shoes and a briefcase.
WPA crews advance on Highway 152 between Pampa and Wheeler in the Panhandle. The 12 mile paving project begins 13 miles east of Pampa with grade and drainage work on seven miles of the route. A caliche topping will be added after the base is completed.
James O. Gulekie chairs a committee for Amarillo to observe the 150th anniversary of the U S Constitution. Mayor Ross D. Rogers appointed the group to cooperate with the U S Constitution Sesquicentennial Commission. Members include Dr R Thomson pastor of Central Presbyterian Church John McCarty editor The Globe News and Walter A Barlow G W Mill Elevator manager.
Attendants at St. Anthony's Hospital report Mrs. H. B. Lautz improved today after three weeks confinement. Stricken seriously ill on February 1, she is the wife of the general manager of Western Lines of the Santa Fe Railway.
