Vogeler Draws 15 Years in Spy Case

British juror dismissed in Sander mercy killing trial
Manchester New Hampshire February 21 AP a British born juror the oldest seated so far in the Sander mercy killing trial was dismissed after the prosecution raised a belated challenge. Albert Baines 72 a retired Manchester Gas Company employee who came to this country about 40 years ago was removed. Baines was one of three jurors among the first nine chosen yesterday to try Dr Hermann Sander on a murder charge for pumping air into a hopeless cancer patient to end her suffering. The state requested the right to challenge the last juror seated yesterday. Eight jurors remained seated and five more were to be chosen. Eight picked include six Roman Catholics. Court officials guarded the venire secrecy as investigators probe possible leaks of juror names. Dr Sander appears sure to be tried by a mature jury. Mrs Alice Sander the nurse wife accompanied them.

Four Amarillo youths plead guilty in Dalhart jewelry burglary
In Dalhart on February 21 three of four Amarillo youths pleaded guilty in 69th District Court to a $7000 Ervin Jewelry Store burglary. Archie Farris and John White Jr. drew 10 year prison terms, Lemuel Vaughn’s sentence pending, Harold Mullins granted severance with a jury trial scheduled next Monday.
