Golden Sandies face Graham Steers in bi district opener

The Amarillo Golden Sandies prepare for four practice sessions before a Tuesday night bi district clash in Graham with the Graham Steers. If needed a third game will be at Childress. The winner advances to the state meet in Austin March 4 to 6. The Sandies fear the Steers after recent losses, while recalling their early December wins when Graham was a green team. Amarillo sports arena hosts the District 1 AA playoff and the Sandies must not underestimate Graham, who recently beat Wichita Falls and briefly led in past meetings. Local standings show Amarillo clinching District 1 AA with wins over Berger and Pampa Harvesters nearby.
