Reservations for the Knife and Fork Club appearance by Andre Michalopoulos former Greek minister of information are available at Maxor Drug Store and Amarillo Hotel newsstand. Seaman Homer Rice former service station operator and Amarillo automobile dealer is home on short leave to dispose of automobile stock. He has completed boot camp and will enter fleet band school next week. He expects sea service within six months. He traveled via TWA to Albuquerque then Tucumcari and Amarillo to visit Mrs. Rice and children. He is stationed at San Diego.
Second of two cars stolen Feb 7 from George Evans lot at 303 Fillmore Street has been recovered. Amarillo police said the vehicle was found at Cooper where it had been left last Saturday by a suspect still at large. The other car from the Evans lot was recovered locally.
Seaman Dick Cazzell of the U S Navy writes from the Atlantic theater describing daily new experiences and a visit to Scotland. He recalls a quaint log fire room and tea, notes saving pounds, and says he is not allowed to reveal location though he expects to hear more about the city before the war ends.
The price panel chaired by Bill Frost reviewed OPA price ceiling violations and handling of complaints between consumers and retailers. The gasoline panel met at 2 pm to discuss rationing regulations and vote on sub-panel applications.
The 530th Army Band will headline the Howdy Soldier program on KGNC at seven. They will perform The Plight of the Bumble Bee and a medley of Irving Berlin compositions. Two guest artists join the all soldier program, including vocalist Cpl Evan Crandall popular in Amarillo music circles.
Pfc. Jack Gould, known for Howdy Soldier, returns after months away to play Liszt Liebestraum in a special arrangement. Pvt. James McBride serves as master of ceremonies for the weekly KGNC broadcast, now in its second year as a sustaining program.

A dispatcher will call the closest stand to the pickup point and dispatch any cab to handle the pickup regardless of operator. If two cabs wait at the stand the first arriving cab handles the pickup. The second cab, if not called within 15 minutes, moves to its home station.
