Parcells president of the Amarillo Society. Other officers include Dr. C. D. Ewing and Dr. A. A. Moody. Out-of-city members Dr. McCasland and Dr. Waldo Beckley of Borger attended.
E. Paul Hovey joins Amarillo Little Theater cast for The Little Stone House one of three one act plays at Municipal Auditorium next Tuesday. Hovey's past work includes State Teacher College Minot and Minot Little Theater plus directing for the Chicago Braille Theater Guild. Helen Cline Reyes directs The Little Stone House. Other two plays are Devil Take a WhitTier and It Takes a Woman.

Plans are underway for the annual Speech Festival to be held March 17 and 18 at the First Baptist Church. A reception for speech teachers and students is planned, with a Sunday meeting at 3 30 on the Mezzanine floor of the Herring Hotel to complete arrangements.

KGNC will air from 7 30 to 8 00 with Vincent Lockhart as master of ceremonies. Canada spends about 750000 annually to fight liquor smuggling along eastern maritime provinces.
Rock Island Lines ordered 41,000 tons of 112 pound rail for main lines in 1939. The program, part of a $32.412 million improvement, also includes 626000 cubic yards of ballast and will affect about 543 miles of track shifting lighter rail to branches.
