A bid over the amount available caused a prior proposal to be rejected and plans now call for grouped smaller additions while the main hospital unit advances with concrete pouring on the first floor by Bellows Construction Company of Oklahoma City.

Two Amarillo contractors submitted proposals for Floydada municipal light plant projects. Ramey Brothers bid about $9,000 for the power house work while Broome Electric Company offered $44,000 for the distribution system.

Amarillo High Band Parents Host Regular Meeting

The Amarillo High School Band Parents Association held a regular meeting in the band room. The program featured a clarinet trio and flute trio and a cornet quartet with listed student musicians. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Bagwell and O D Thompson as the group discussed the Amarillo March by Lieutenant Benter. The band will perform the piece at the next concert.

Work Orders Issued for City Water Power Plant

PWA headquarters issued work orders for installing a 10 million gallon pump and 350 horsepower motor at the city water power plant. George Broome of the electrical company stated the equipment had been ordered. The contract, part of the PWA project, was awarded on a bid of about $7,500.
