Albert L. Jones, 47, died in Fort Worth after he hurled a stone to keep his dog from following him. He ruptured a heart muscle and died within an hour.
Assistant Attorney General Maurice Cheek reported to Attorney General James V. Allred that Texas Panhandle gas bought at two cents per thousand cubic feet is sold in Chicago for 1.50. The probe examines if the two cent state tax is properly computed and notes the gas moves through Texoma Natural Gas, Natural Gas Pipe Line Corp of America, and other pipelines to Joliet and Chicago.
Washington February 15 Wall Street interests faced the House Judiciary Committee charged with depressing and inflating New York stocks to push legislation. Harold Arons a New York banker and lawyer said Wall Street withheld recognition of the Reconstruction Finance Corporation but rose stocks after Hoover announced federal reserve liberalization measures they favored.
Berlin February 15 President Paul Von Hindenburg agreed to seek another term in the upcoming elections. He is expected to campaign with backing from middle and moderate right parties and may win support from the Social Democrats as well.
The House appropriations panel trimmed the next fiscal year budget to 124.7 million, reducing commerce and labor needs while preserving city enforcement funds. The justice department totals 51.1 million, down 2.8 million from estimates and 172k below current appropriations.

C. V. Terrell chaired a hearing in Pampa Texas to decide if natural gas is being wasted in the Panhandle and if tougher rules are needed. About 175 oil company representatives attended as J. M. McDonald testified on production technology and American Refining Company explained its methods. Terrell was joined by Fred Upchurch and R. D. Parker from state offices in Carson County.
The government announced it would appeal the District of Columbia Supreme Court ruling that invalidated corrupt practices act indictments against Bishop James Cannon Jr and Ada L Burroughs. Assistant D A John J Wilson said the appeal could be ready for the district court of appeals within a week with sixty days allowed to perfect it.
