Snow Storm Brings Dallas Traffic to Standstill

Sleet snow and freezing rain snarled Dallas traffic from the Commerce Street underpass to the Fort Worth cutoff, with officers calling it the worst jam seen. Bleak Panhandle Morning Delivers Cold Start and Light Snow

The Panhandle faced a cold, bleak morning with 13 degrees overnight. Farmers and ranchers bear the storm’s brunt as stockmen scramble to feed herds with little moisture in sight. Walter Watts of the US Weather Bureau in Amarillo reports 0.6 inches of snowfall since yesterday, total 0.8 inches since Monday night, not enough to aid farming much. Robbery at Bailey Service Station in Amarillo

An 18 year old attendant at Bailey Service Station 523 North Fillmore was robbed of about 103 dollars early this morning. The white male suspect, 23 or 24, about 5 10, 175 pounds, in a blue Navy pea coat and light blue pants, demanded cash with a pistol then warned Chase not to exit for 15 minutes. Chase phoned police from Jones Cafe 605 North Fillmore after escaping through a restroom window. Police consider a second man may have been involved. Weather and road reports followed, noting slick streets, snow, and late transportation schedules across the Panhandle.
