Cold Wave Threat Hits Amarillo Area Livestock Warned

The Amarillo region faces a cold wave with strong winds and near freezing lows tonight and Wednesday. Panhandle and South Plains suffer deeper chills with 16 to 22 and 26 to 30 degree ranges, prompting livestock protection measures as rain turns to snow. New Mexico forecast shows rain and snow in higher elevations, with colder conditions overnight and into Wednesday morning. Temperature readings include a 6:30 AM high/low of 15 and 45, noon at 63.
