Military court of inquiry to examine how rescue efforts in Sand Cave failed to free Floyd Collins and whether Collins entered the cave by the regular entrance. Reports say Red Cross now bears full rescue costs as tests indicate Collins is alive and weather hindrances persist.

Jimmie Slade pleaded guilty to a charged intoxicated driving offense in district court and was fined 26 dollars plus costs. Dallas attorney John D. McCall assisted county officials and land board officials in warrants totaling 130 thousand dollars. Warrants were sold to Branch Middlekauff company for 26.50 dollars.
Two major prairie fires sweep near Canyon and Hereford as strong winds drive flames toward Canyon. The Twin Wells pasture east of Canyon and the Campbell McElro ranch area blaze and a second fire east of Hereford threaten surrounding lands. Aiding calls flood The Globe as crews rush to contain rapid spread.
W H Fuqua told a Globe reporter he plans to devote more time to recreation and less to business. He said a sanitarium stay in the East and doctors' advice to ease up prompted the decision. He expressed optimism about health and the improving stock market as he returned to Amarillo.

A race began between an airplane and dog teams from Nenana to Nome, Alaska. The mission carries diphtheria antitoxin, amid Nome’s diphtheria epidemic with six deaths and about thirty illnesses reported, 920 miles away.
Judge Henry Bishop reopens grand jury to probe a Polk Street shooting and two liquor cases. The panel lacks a quorum and will reconvene. law on officer firearm use and self defense is clarified as cases are examined. Officers may only shoot to defend or prevent imminent harm.

The Amarillo Paper Company executive Pumphrey, though not a Shamrock resident, becomes a paying member of the Shamrock Chamber of Commerce. He says his business ties and cordial relations with Shamrock business people make him feel at home and better show his genuine interest in the town’s advancement.
