Gas offer praised but impractical for pipeline delivery
The offer by Rogers Lacy of Longview Texas to supply 25 billion cubic feet of gas daily to ease Eastern fuel shortages is praised yet impractical via the War Emergency Pipeline. Hull notes needed compressors every 60 to 70 miles along the 550 mile line and that pumping stations delay blocks use until Feb. 1. Oil deliveries to Illinois docks expected to begin Feb. 1. Also, a separate note: Abraham Singer leaves 500 to the first American aviator's family killed over Russian soil.
