Tonight and Friday remain partly cloudy with cooler conditions. Earlier hour temperatures show a steady rise from morning lows near 7 degrees to peak around 60 degrees by mid afternoon.
Attorney General Dan Moody ruled that a called Texas House session could issue certificates of attendance and pay claims later, and that members could claim mileage and per diem. The decision, addressing Rep. George Purl and Speaker Lee Satterwhite, signals possible financing for a future special session and stirs debate on Texas highway investigation records.

Dallas December 24 traveling salesman Arthur Lock was arrested after being charged with criminal assault on a 16 year old girl at her home. He denied forcing entry and attacking her saying he visited the girl that day and an argument occurred with relatives away.
The Amarillo Rotary Club held its regular luncheon at the Amarillo hotel with Dr. G T Yates speaking on Christmas Spirit. George Mageard directed the program while Norris Ewing spoke on Rotary during the season. The club quartet—Edgar Williams Henry Gooch Charley Gregg Elmer Lewis—sang several numbers. The Globe will not publish tomorrow for Christmas and extends season greetings to its readers, wishing a merry holiday.
Former Secretary of War John W Weeks escaped harm in a collision of two Atlantic Coast Line passenger trains south of Moncks Corner. Mrs Weeks was hurt and four men believed killed. Officials said only limited details were available from the wreck site.
Col. William Mitchell, court martialed and suspended for five years, is reportedly invited by the Aerial League of America to become general director. The offer targets development of thirty four transcontinental and trans oceanic airways and two air cities at San Marcial Sonora Mexico and in Arizona, with Mitchell expected to decline.
Cal Farley announces a new Amarillo site at 208 East Fourth Street with a drive in feature and modern equipment. He notes the move will improve service for Amarillo and Panhandle customers and expects completion by early spring.

New York December 24 Bryan Coleman 27 year old World War II veteran shot himself at his Roosevelt Rhode Island home after placing the final ornament on a Christmas tree for his young daughter. He died two hours later.
Amarillo and Randall County officials agreed to pursue a paved highway between Canyon and Amarillo by forming a road district with very low taxes. The plan involves Potter County and officials from Canyon, Amarillo, and Randall County, with possible completion in 1926 pending favorable action.
The Agriculture Department reports 39,956,000 acres sown in fall, down 1.0 percent from last year. Rye area at 3,426,000 acres down 16.2 percent. December 1 conditions: winter wheat at 87.1 percent of normal. rye at 83.8 percent. regional totals include Texas 1,750,000 acres at 91 percent and Kansas 11,492,000 at 84 percent.
Flour prices climbed sharply mirroring wheat gains with mill quotations rising from 9.05 to 9.15 and 9.45 to 9.60 a barrel for family patents. The advance followed yesterday's wheat rally, pushing barrel prices up by about 40 to 45 cents.
Beaumont Texas reports the Orange oil field new Aycade No 12 B well came in on Wednesday delivering about 3000 barrels a day. An eighth royalty will go to the state and state schools from the production.
Edgar Williamson, educational director of the First Baptist church, resigns to become assistant pastor at the Third Baptist church in St. Louis. He is noted as a popular young church worker and awarded a greater opportunity in a larger field.
Washington on December 24 shows Christmas mood easing government work as Congress adjourns for the holiday. President Coolidge stays at the White House with Mrs Coolidge and John away at college while a Wisconsin tree is lit at six o clock. Mrs Coolidge plans charity events for poor children and visits to Children's Hospital with gifts and Santa Claus activities.
The Amarillo postoffice reports its largest Christmas business in history with no complaints and minimal confusion. Postmaster Bill Kenyon credits employee cooperation and newspaper support, while most staff take time off except for special delivery and perishable items.
Archia and wife Cantleberry injured when their Ford coupe was struck by a speeding car ten miles west of Amarillo. Mrs Cantleberry required 32 stitches. Mr Cantleberry lightly bruised. Suspect driver fled, man jailed. both teachers.
Four indictments were returned today by the Coahoma county grand jury in Clarksville Mississippi after a special session to investigate the Saturday night lynching of Lindley Coleman a Black man. Names and charges were not released pending warrants and arrests.
