Dwight W. Morrow formally accepts appointment as senator from New Jersey after Senator Baird resigns to become ambassador to France. Morrow will assume duties once his London arms conference delegation work is finished. Baird was appointed to fill the vacancy caused by Walter E. Edge’s resignation as ambassador to France.
United Press report from Houston says motorcycle officer C. F. Thomas died when his bike skidded and slammed into a fire engine while he was on a downtown call to open a fire lane for responding trucks.

Amarillo school board members report overcrowding in three districts Buchanan San Jacinto and McKinley and urge new buildings to handle growth. They cite visits to Oklahoma City Tulsa and Wichita to study bond issues and planning for future needs. A 5 000 000 bond issue is discussed with possible locations including adjacent to San Jacinto and a park site. A special meeting is set for next Friday to decide concrete action.
